Super Bowl Sunday!

It is no secret that large numbers of prostitutes are brought in during huge sporting events...or is it?
I mean if we take the ingredients:
6 cups alcohol + a pinch of disposable income + thousands of people traveling outside of their everyday lives
and mix all ingredients together in one stadium/city, I have a feeling the outcome is more predictable than the football game score.

Still, pimps and traffickers should not be the only ones to see this trend/opportunity. Indiana has actually done a very good job of being proactive with the big game coming up Sunday. They realize the large responsibility that is placed on their city and are doing everything possible to educate, make aware and prepare for this event.

Governor Mitch Daniels today signed SEA 4, a measure that will better protect children by making it easier for prosecutors and by closing loopholes. The bill broadens penalties for those convicted of certain types of trafficking to a Class A felony, which is punishable by 20 to 50 yearsin prison.

They are hoping that traffickers get the message that they are going to be taken seriously and thelaw allows prosecutors to bring charges against people who use force or fraud to make another person participate in sexual activity. The law makes it a felony to sell or transfer custody of a child under 16 for the purposes of participating in sexual conduct.

A Texas organization called Traffick911, launched the "I'm Not Buying It" campaign for Super Bowl XLV and was a great example of how a city can take a stand not only in legislation but in conscientious prevention and the simple choices we make.

Super bowl is and should be a celebration, but at what cost?
