Colorado Attorney General John Suthers announced a 70 count indictment alleging four young men who oversaw a trafficking ring that moved not only cocaine, methamphetamine, but also underaged girls.
The case was picked up by local police departments beginning with Wheat Ridge and Lakewood but widened into Denver, Boulder, Glenwood Springs, Grand Junction. Nine others were named and charged with aiding the sex ring and authorities believe this is only the beginning. For more details on the case:
It is easy to ignore the reality of human trafficking until the girls are literally brought into your own backyard. This case is a victory for Colorado but it is merely the tip of the iceberg and "coming to a city near you."
