About “Trade of Innocents”
In the back streets of a tourist town in present-day Southeast Asia, we find a filthy cinder block room; a bed with soiled sheets; a little girl waits for the next man. Alex (Dermot Mulroney), a human trafficking investigator, plays the role of her next customer as he negotiates with the pimp for the use of the child. Claire (Mira Sorvino), Alex’s wife, is caught up in the flow of her new life in Southeast Asia and her role as a volunteer in an aftercare shelter for rescued girls where lives of local neighborhood girl’s freedoms and dignity are threatened. Parallel story lines intertwine and unfold twists against the backdrop of the dangerous human trafficking world, in a story of struggle, life, hope and redemption in the “TRADE of INNOCENTS.” Rated PG-13.

About the Production
“The compelling ‘Trade of Innocents’ was created to raise awareness about human trafficking and motivate every viewer to action, at both the grass roots and highest government levels.” states Producer Bill Bolthouse. The overflow crowd in attendance at the recent screening as the centerpiece of the Yale Symposium was a fitting kick-off to the ongoing promotional campaign for the film, highlighting the issue in a very public way. Attended by Ambassador Luis CdeBaca and Deputy Attorney General James Cole along with numerous law enforcement representatives, legal experts and NGO partners in the fight against trafficking, as well as Kate Stith, Lafayette S. Foster Professor of Law at Yale Law School and former acting Dean who stated "This 'Trade of Innocents Symposium' is one of the most important things I've ever been a part of in the 25 years I've been here at Yale Law School".
Ms. Sorvino has also represented the cause in her work as a United Nations Goodwill Ambassador.

“Beautifully filmed, this poignant inspiring film will be an enthralling and moving experience for audiences,” commented Scott Mansfield, CEO of monterey media. “We are so very inspired by the wonderful work of the filmmakers and Producers and it is so very gratifying to have our monterey media team become an integral part of bringing to light, through the film, one of most important issues facing our world today.”
